Director
David L. Durgin
Partner, Verge Fund

Dave Durgin is a successful businessman and high-tech entrepreneur with extensive experience in the start-up, expansion and management of technology-based product and services companies. During his 45-year career he has held positions as an electrical engineer, technical project manager, business executive, high-tech entrepreneur and professional investor. Mr. Durgin’s career has included the positions of Technical Staff Member and Project Manager at Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque, NM, senior executive with two major international technology companies, founder and senior executive with numerous start-up and early stage technology companies, Mentor, Angel Investor and Venture Capitalist.

Prior to embarking on his technology venture development and investment activities in New Mexico in 1990, he spent 20 years growing large technology consulting and engineering services businesses as a Senior Partner with Booz Allen & Hamilton and a Vice President with BDM International (now part of Northrop Grumman). He has been focusing on assisting entrepreneurs and emerging technology companies in New Mexico since 1990. Durgin is currently the managing partner of a New Mexico Angel investment company, Quattro Ventures LLC, a special limited partner in a Phoenix–based Venture Capital Fund managed by Valley Ventures III Management LLC and the co-founder and General Partner of the Verge Fund, a New Mexico Seed Fund. Mr. Durgin is a leader in his community and state and serves on the Boards of Directors of several for-profit and not-for-profit companies in New Mexico.

He holds a BSEE degree from New Mexico State University (NMSU) and he has been selected as an outstanding Alumnus by both NMSU and the NMSU College of Engineering.

James J. McNally
President and CEO, TruTouch Technologies

Dr. McNally co-founded TruTouch Technologies Inc. in January 2005 and is presently the CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board. Jim, a recognized expert in optics and imaging technologies, has over 28 years of business experience directing advanced-technology organizations both start-up companies and large organizations. He brings a unique blend of leadership experience in private industry and government.

Jim is the former Vice President for InLight Solutions, Inc., and was a Corporate Officer and VP for SVS (acquired by Boeing). He retired from the US Air Force having managed the development of the Defense Department's largest optical telescope system, and numerous airborne and space advanced technology programs.

Jim is Chairman of the Board for the New Mexico Optics Industry Association, and member of the University of New Mexico's Business and Industry Advisory Cabinet, SPIE Policy Committee, and the Technology Ventures Corporation Technology Executives Council Advisory Board.

Dr. McNally received his BEE (summa cum laude) from Manhattan College, his M.S. from the University of California, and his Ph.D. in Optical Sciences from the University of New Mexico.

Kim Sanchez Rael
General Partner, Flywheel Ventures

Ms. Sanchez Rael brings a seasoned tech industry operational and financial background, along with a strong entrepreneurial history, expertise in university and laboratory commercialization, and a powerful network of business and political relationships. Prior to joining Flywheel, she was a founder and investor in Qynergy Corporation, and served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer, which included responsibility for securing and structuring venture financing for the company.

Before Qynergy, Ms. Sanchez Rael spent 7 years at Intel Corporation in a variety of senior positions spanning finance, manufacturing, engineering, strategic planning, operations, and organizational development functions. She managed a capital budget of over $200 million, led the design team for a $1 billion semiconductor factory project, and achieved a number of business process improvements that increased factory capacity by 15%, reduced product cost by 70%, and improved overall factory cost effectiveness by 25%.

She is currently a member of the New Mexico State Board of Finance (appointed by Governor Bill Richardson), a Director of the Albuquerque Public Schools Foundation, and an Advisory Board member for the Arts Alliance. She is a member of the founding Governing Council of a charter elementary school in Albuquerque, a co-founding partner of Social Venture Partners New Mexico, and serves on the Wells Fargo Bank New Mexico Leadership Council. In 2002 and 2003, Kim was named one of the state‘s top 40 “Power Brokers” in the annual publication by the New Mexico Business Weekly, and was featured as the cover story of the 2003 issue. Kim‘s past volunteer efforts include serving as a member and Chairperson of the Albuquerque Private Industry Council (now known as the Workforce Investment Board), an Advisory Board member for Albuquerque Development Capital, and Co-Chair for the Greater Albuquerque Promise Book.

Kim holds a Bachelor‘s degree with Honors from Harvard University and an MBA and Certificate in Public Management from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. She has also served as a Rotary International Graduate Scholar in Caracas, Venezuela, and is a graduate of Leadership Albuquerque.

M. Ries Robinson, M.D.
CEO, InLight Solutions

Dr. Robinson co-founded InLight Solutions (formerly Rio Grande Medical Technologies) in 1993 and has served as Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer, President and Director of Research for the Company since its inception. Dr. Robinson is also on the Board of Directors for VeraLight, Lumidigm and Luminous Medical.

InLight Solutions™ is a world leader in developing light measurement systems for life science applications. The company has a research agreement with LifeScan, Inc. in the field of diabetes and is addressing multiple product opportunities in the medical, food processing, safety, and manufacturing industries.

Prior to co-founding InLight Solutions, Dr. Robinson initiated research into noninvasive blood chemistry monitoring in collaboration with Dr. R. Philip Eaton of the University of New Mexico, School of Medicine (UNM-SOM) and Dr. David Haaland, of Sandia, in 1988. Since that time, he has led Sandia's and UNM-SOM's research efforts in this field, and has co-authored several comprehensive U.S. patents and patent applications to which the Company now holds exclusive rights. Dr. Robinson has authored several peer-reviewed technical articles, received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the New Mexico Inventor of the Year Program in 1992, and was named the New Mexico Inventor of the Year in 1994.

Dr. Robinson graduated from Stanford University in 1987 with a B.S/M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in controls engineering and received an M.D. degree from UNM-School of Medicine in 1991, undertaking extensive additional studies in electrical and systems engineering.

Frank A. Traylor III
President and CEO, VisionTEK, Inc.

Frank Traylor brings a strong background in executive management, product development and software engineering, and the alcohol testing industry to TruTouch. Most recently Mr. Traylor guided VisionTEK, and public safety software provider, through transformation from a small regional development company to the leader in the wireless public safety space.

Prior to joining VisionTEK, Mr. Traylor served as the President and CEO of Lifeloc Technologies, a manufacturer of breath alcohol testing instruments. At Lifeloc he transitioned a lower tier provider to a market leader in hand-held breath testing, overseeing the development and introduction of three new products and building a strong market presence in the domestic and international law enforcement markets. Mr. Traylor holds a patent in fuel cell alcohol sensing. Earlier positions included Managing Director at a software development company, and wireless communications systems software and hardware development positions in the defense industry.

Mr. Traylor has a MBA from the University of Denver and BS in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Tom Keleher
Managing Director and CFO, New Mexico Community Capital

Prior to joining New Mexico Community Capital, Tom worked as a fund manager for San Francisco based Columbia Management, a subsidiary of Fleet Bank Boston and Bank of America. He managed the Emerging Markets Strategy and served as a member of the firm's Asian and International investment teams with approximately $ 3 billion in assets under management.

Tom taught finance at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. While residing in Ecuador, Tom also performed consulting work in the Amazon Basin and for a financial institution in the capital city. Tom had previously spent eight years analyzing companies and negotiating contracts as a commercial insurance underwriter in Chicago. Tom has been a guest speaker at the Haas School of Business at U.C. Berkeley and the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco.

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Colorado, Tom earned a Masters degree from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University. He has eight years of experience in the investment management industry and holds the C.F.A. designation.
